One of Inishowen’s largest employers, Forward Emphasis International (FEI), and the recently established Inishowen Innovation (ii) hub located in Buncrana, have announced an exciting new collaboration. This partnership will see Forward Emphasis take up dedicated space within the hub to accommodate its growing resource demand and provide the perfect environment for FEI to focus on continuing to develop innovative solutions to meet its clients’ requirements.

FEI plans to have a significant number of hybrid employees working out of the ii within the next 2 months. Much of the focus for this initiative is specifically in the Learning and Development space, where FEI is in the process of developing an Edtech training platform which will revolutionize the training and upskilling of insurance professionals.

FEI CEO, Fiona Burns, speaking about the new linkup said “We are delighted to have secured this agreement with the Inishowen Innovation hub. It is a truly class leading co-working and start up space and we are very lucky to have it right here on our doorstep. It allows us to take the next step in our growth journey, giving us a space to not only grow but to focus our innovation and development activities, with the added benefit of being able to tap into the top-class ecosystem of emerging skills and technologies available here locally who are also using the hub. We look forward to working with Anne Marie and all involved with the ii hub and seeing the relationship go from strength to strength.”

Anne Marie McLaughlin, Innovation Manager at the ii said “The ii’s core goal is to foster employment opportunities for the people of Inishowen and the surrounding communities, by providing services, supports and access to cutting-edge technology to existing businesses, new startups, and remote tech workers. Although only officially opened in October, Inishowen Innovation has already established a vibrant community of entrepreneurs and remote work members, which will be further enhanced and supported by the addition of the FEI team. We are delighted to welcome the FEI group into our state-of-the-art co-working facility.”

Inishowen Innovation is co-funded by Donegal County Council and Enterprise Ireland, and administered by ERNACT. It brings together a strong partnership of local and national business support agencies, local universities, and European knowledge centres.
